In order to protect user privacy and in accordance with local and multinational regulation, we periodically review account activity and manage data retention in accordance with internal security standards and privacy regulations.
This means removing account and user data that is no longer necessary for its original purpose.
Accounts are evaluated for retention based on specific parameters, and are subject to deletion if they fulfill ALL of the following :
- Account has not logged in for at least 2 years (4 years for platform linked accounts - "Steam" and "Kongregate")
- Account is not currently suspended
- Has not made in-game purchases, equaling more than $10 USD
- Does not have more than 50 characters created in total
- Has not accumulated more than 1000 fame (either total Fame or living char fame)
NOTE: Certain accounts may be exempt from standard retention timelines, such as, but not limited to - those with active legal holds, specific regulatory requirements, or ongoing contractual obligations.
Deactivation Process
If an account meets the criteria, the following steps are typically taken:
- Users will receive an email notification at their registered address (where available) prior to any permanent action being taken.
- A time window is provided for the user to log in and "reactivate" the account to prevent deletion.
- Once an account is formally closed, all personal data and associated records are terminated or anonymized according to our data security protocols.
